TWO BEES ON HYDRANGEA, AFTER THE RAIN

I love hydrangeas. The island and my back yard are filled with them. Their long-lasting late-summer blooms are lovely from their first pastel blush, through their color-saturated peak, and even when they're fading, picked, and dried. They attract all kinds of insects, especially bees, seen here on a lace cap hydrangea after a rainfall, with drops of water still on the petals and leaves. (150)
